The Vibe Dating Game
The July "Sexy Issue" of Vibe Magazine has hit newsstands complete with the photo you see above. You'll have to pick up a copy to read the full story by the awesome writer Sacha Jenkins, but to give you a hint, it has to do with the recent departure of Ken as Barbie's #1 man. Go buy the issue now!
There have been a lot of fun assignments lately, but this one stands out as being one of the most entertaining to work on. Aside from the subject matter, it gave me another chance to collaborate with one of my favorite modelmakers and toy designers - Brannon Wright. He gets a huge thanks for being able to make the very tight deadline while keeping his amazing standard of work for the set. There aren't many guys that can freehand carve a "Dating Game" logo at 3 am, especially while I'm bribing them with beers. ;)
Two new promotions are in the works. McCarty PhotoWorks is teaming up with STRANGEco and Friends With You to produce some truly unique giveaways for San Diego Comic Con in July. Be looking for the contest launch and entry details in the coming weeks. Until then, be sure to catch the short film "Mr. Wizard," produced by Friends With You for Nike Lab, and the MARS-1 figure produced by STRANGEco, MARS-1, Recon, and Three Zero!!
